Floors that were meant to be seen
Sarasota's mid-century architects designed with terrazzo on purpose. In the historic neighborhoods and on the keys, the floor often runs from the entry straight out to the glass and the lanai. Those floors are part of the architecture, and owners of these homes know exactly what they have. They hold the work to a high standard, and so do we. Matched repairs and a clear, even polish are what we're built for.
And the ones that spent 40 years under carpet
Just as often, we're working in the neighborhoods built through the fifties, sixties and early seventies, like Gulf Gate, South Gate and the Bay Shore area. Here the terrazzo usually went under wall-to-wall carpet decades ago, and it's still there. Pulling that carpet is the single biggest upgrade most of these houses can get.
Downtown, we've worked on storefronts where terrazzo from the 1940s and 50s is being uncovered after decades under tile and vinyl.

Indian Beach / Sapphire Shores
One of Sarasota's historic neighborhoods, along the bay north of downtown. Its mid-century and Sarasota Modern houses have some of the finest original terrazzo we restore.
Lido Shores
A small waterfront neighborhood known for its Sarasota School of Architecture houses. Terrazzo here often runs straight out to the glass.
Bird Key
The original homes on Bird Key were built with terrazzo, and it's still there, often under tile added later.
Siesta Key
From beach cottages to Sarasota Modern houses, Siesta Key's older homes have the perfect floor for the beach: terrazzo. We bring these floors back to life regularly.
Harbor Acres
A waterfront neighborhood with mid-century houses among its older homes, many with original terrazzo worth bringing back.
Gulf Gate
Ranch homes built through the late fifties and sixties with terrazzo throughout. Most of it has been under carpet since the seventies. If the carpet is still there let us remove the tack strip and save yourself hundreds of holes.
South Gate
Postwar block homes with terrazzo in every room. We've restored many of them. The quality of the terrazzo in this area is excelent.
Bay Shore
The streets along Bay Shore Road hold more of the mid-century homes we restore most, next door to Indian Beach/Sapphire Shores.

Mid-century ranch homes, most with their terrazzo under carpet or tile.
Downtown and Main Street
Commercial terrazzo from the 1940s and 50s under storefront tile and vinyl. We take the business's schedule into account and plan the work to minimize disruption.

Yes. While many of these floors have been covered over the years, the terrazzo underneath is just waiting to be the showpiece of the home.
Do you work on the keys?
Yes. Siesta, Lido, and Longboat are all common workplaces for us. Beach houses are more likely to have survived uncovered than anywhere else we work.
